A two-hour special honoring Paul Simon will air on the CBS Television Network on Dec. 21, 2022, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Homeward Bound: A Grammy® Salute to the Songs of Paul Simon, features performances and tributes by such stars as Garth Brooks, Sting, Susanna Hoffs, Stevie Wonder, and others. Simon also performs. The program will also be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. Watch several performances below.
From the Dec. 14 announcement: The special tribute honoring Simon, born Oct. 13, 1941, features a performer lineup of Grammy-winning artists, past nominees and iconic voices including Brooks and Trisha Yearwood (“The Boxer”), Eric Church, Rhiannon Giddens, Hoffs, Jonas Brothers, Angélique Kidjo, Ledisi, Little Big Town, Dave Matthews, Brad Paisley (“Kodachrome”), Billy Porter, Sting, Take 6, Irma Thomas, Shaggy and Jimmy Cliff, Trombone Shorty, and Wonder, who will all pay homage to Simon’s legendary career.
Presenters and special appearances include Sofia Carson, Herbie Hancock, Woody Harrelson, Dustin Hoffman, Elton John, Folake Olowofoyeku, and Oprah Winfrey.
Though Simon is no longer touring, he still makes the occasional stage appearance. He was a surprise guest at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival.
