The Palm Desert, CA band – known in short as EODM – thrust to international fame by last November’s terror attack on the Paris nightclub they were playing will embark on an extensive international tour starting in late April. The itinerary takes the group across Canada and North America through July. Then EODM will tour across Europe in August and September, with shows, including several festival appearances, in Poland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, U.K., Italy, Greece, Spain and Portugal as well as Israel.
Music fans and fellow musical artists continue to raise funds to assist the families of the victims of the November 13 attack on the Bataclan nightclub via founder John Homme’s Sweet Stuff Foundation. Musicians around the world Play It Forward by recording cover versions of EODM’s “I Love You All The Time,” with 100 percent of EODM’s publishing income donated to foundation. The latest to cut the song is none other than Elton John in a special collaboration with The Strokes’ Fabrizio Moretti and Nick Valensi featuring Beck.
EODM was formed in 1998 in Palm Desert, CA by best friends Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme. Despite the name, EODM (Eagles Of Death Metal) is not a death metal band. The story goes that a friend was introducing Joshua Homme to the death metal genre, and Homme wondered what a cross between the Eagles and a death metal band would sound like. With that, EODM was born. The band released Peace Love Death Metal in 2004, followed by Death By Sexy in 2006, Heart On in 2008, and Zipper Down in 2015.
