No official word on just how it happened, only a tweet from Rose with a video by his surgeon explaining the injury. But the show must and Guns N’ Roses will go on tonight (4/8) and Saturday evening at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
The skinny is that the Gn’R frontman slipped onstage during “Mr. Brownstone” at last Friday’s (4/1) warm-up club show at Hollywood’s Troubadour and fractured a bone in his left foot. But trouper that he is, Rose gutted it out and finished the gig. Then he had plates and screws inserted to repair the break and is now in a cast.

Rose’s foot and ankle specialist, Dr. Rachel Triche, says, “He’s having his set, I think, designed for the stage so he can perform for everyone still.” But fans obviously won’t be seeing the trademark Axl Rose stage shimmy as he sings during the remaining shows with returning Guns founders Slash and Duff McKagan at the Coachella festival in Indio, CA on April 16th and 23rd and Mexico City on the 19th and 20th. He has to keep weight off the foot for four weeks, so Rose is expected to heal before the classic hard rock superstars begin their 19-date stadium tour on June 23rd in Detroit.
There’s still no further information on Rose also fronting AC/DC to make-up canceled dates on their recent North American tour due to singer Brian Johnson’s hearing problems.
In other related Guns news, a fan with very deep pockets can now pick up a pricey bit of Gn’R memorabilia. The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday (4/7) that Slash has put his Beverly Hills villa “back on the market at $10.495 million, down from $10.995 million earlier this year.” The 10,971-square-foot, seven bedroom/6.5 bath home has many of the requisite party hearty features one would expect in a rock star’s mansion: pool and spa, lounge with a DJ booth and stripper pole, and a skate ramp. The guitarist can obviously afford to drop the price a bit on the house and its three-quarter acre grounds in the gated Mulholland Estates community that he bought in 2009 for $7.3 million with what he stands to rake in from the summer’s reunion shows.
Tickets for the band’s tour went on sale today, Friday, April 8th, via Live Nation.
