British reggae legends UB40 have announced a 22-date U.K. tour for autumn 2016 on top of their extensive North American tour this summer.
UB40’s lineup features founding members Jimmy Brown (drums), Robin Campbell (co-lead vocals and guitar), Earl Falconer (bass, vocals), Norman Hassan (percussion, vocals) and Brian Travers (sax and keys), plus Duncan Campbell (lead vocals), Martin Meredith (sax and keys), Lawrence Parry (trumpet) and Tony Mullings (keys).
Fans can expect to hear many of the group’s greatest hits, an astounding 35 of which hit the U.K. Top 40. In America, the UB40 enjoyed two #1 pop hits: 1983’s “Red, Red Wine” and 1993’s “(I Can’t Help) Falling in Love With You.” Other favorites include their covers of “I Got You Babe,” which featured a duet with Chrissie Hynde, and “The Way You Do the Things You Do.”
The U.K. tour will begin on September 30 at Leeds O2 Academy and end at Cliff’s Pavilion in Southend on October 31.

“We’re looking forward to bringing the true sound of UB40 to our incredible fans this autumn,” says Campbell. “After all, in Brian, Jimmy and me you have all of UB40’s principal songwriters. And we’re a reggae band; no other band in the world can replicate the sound of UB40’s original rhythm section of Earl and Jimmy. They are the backbone of UB40’s sound.”
Naming themselves after the British unemployment benefit form, UB40 formed in 1978, before releasing their debut album Signing Off in 1980 – considered by many to be one of the greatest reggae albums ever released by a British band. It was the start of a career that has seen the band achieve sales of over 100 million records, making UB40 one of the most successful British groups of all-time.
