A special, intimate performance of the Dickey Betts Band, Ramblin’ Man: Live at The St. George Theatre, recorded in July 2018 was released on July 26, 2019. The audio and video recording, which captures the band at the historic St. George Theatre on Staten Island in New York City, comes in a variety of formats via BMG.

An original member of the Allman Brothers Band, Betts played a key role in making them stadium-filling superstars in the mid-‘70s, then returned the band to prominence in 1989, keeping the group among rock’s respected vanguard through the ‘90s. As leader of his Great Southern band during the 2000s, Betts, born Dec. 12, 1943, continued to play stages around the world.

The band members on this release include Betts (lead guitar,vocals), Duane Betts (lead guitar), Frankie Lombardi (drums, backup vocals), Mike Kach (keyboards, lead vocals), Pedro Arevalo (bass), Damon Fowler (lead/slide guitar, vocals) and Steve Camilleri (drums). There is also a special guest appearance from Devon Allman, son of Gregg Allman, on “Midnight Rider.”
The 90-minute performance, from July 21, 2018, features several Allman Brothers Band classics, including 10-minute-plus versions of “Ramblin’ Man” and “Blue Sky.”
There’s also a 21-minute edition of “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed.”
Betts was inducted with the Allman Brothers Band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. He is recognized as one of the greatest rock guitar players of all-time. He continues to recover from an accidental fall in September 2018, and enjoying being back playing guitar and fishing.
A Blu-ray version also includes “Statesboro Blues,” My Getaway” and “Nothing You Can Do.”
