With the first new ELO album in a decade scheduled to arrive in less than a month, Jeff Lynne has just released a second song to whet listener’s appetites. “When The Night Comes” follows “When I Was A Boy,” which appeared seemingly out of nowhere – to the great surprise of Electric Light Orchestra fans – on September 24th.
Ever since Jeff Lynne’s out of the blue announcement on September that he was formally reviving ELO with a worldwide deal with Columbia Records, fans wondered when the first new ELO music since 2001 would appear. They didn’t have to wait long… and the album, Alone In The Universe, arrives on November 13th. (Pre-order it below.)
The mid-tempo “When The Night Comes” evokes several earlier ELO songs including “It’s Over.” Update: Lynne released a lyric video for the song this week. Enjoy…
Until the album arrives, fans can also enjoy the Live In Hyde Park concert DVD which was released last month. Best Classic Bands called it “electric.” Read the full review here. Lynne has also revealed that ELO will be touring in 2016. We’ll bring you details as they are announced.
