Fans of the progressive rock group Yes, which earned their long overdue inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017, are well aware that there are two active editions of the band. The one featuring vocalist Jon Anderson, guitarist Trevor Rabin and keyboardist Rick Wakeman started in 2016 with a well-received North American tour.
On April 10, Yes Featuring Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman announced a 100-show world tour of “Quintessential Yes” that began on June 3rd in Warsaw, Poland. The tour will feature shows in Scandinavia, Germany, U.K. and North America in 2018, continue on to South America, Central and Southern Europe, ending in Japan and the Far East in 2019. (See the 2018 dates below.)
On Sunday night (June 3), the trio, along with their drummer Louis Molino III and bass guitarist Iain Hornal, offered a 14-song set at Warsaw’s Park Sowińskiego that closely resembled what they performed on their 2017 dates. That meant such classic rock favorites as their #1 single, “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” plus “I’ve Seen All Good People” and “Roundabout.” The biggest surprise? A cover of Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love,” which they introduced in 2017. (Complete setlist is below.)

I love this band, saw them last year and have tickets to see them again on this tour, and I have to admit I am sorely disappointed they have changed almost nothing with the set list. With all of the songs to pick from, they couldn’t throw in a few different tunes? Here’s some suggestions guys: Starship Trooper, Wondrous Stories, Long Distance Runaround, The Calling, Walls, Love will find a way.
exactly–new material/deep Yes cuts–the setlist for both incarnations of this band seem to stick to the same overall songs for the past 25 years when the catalog is so Deep—largest% of audience are die-hard fans—give it to us!
I’m guessing you havent actually seen a setlist of the real Yes in several years.
Agree, with the set list suggestions from YWest. Otherwise, this is really the only Yes band, with Anderson singing. With the 2 bands would unite somehow. The whole is still greater than the sum of its parts
The members of the actual Yes have much longer tenures in Yes than ARW do. So ARW is the fake Yes. Fact.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to by “the actual Yes.” But if you’re referring to the current band billed solely as Yes, then your statement isn’t correct. As a founding member of Yes, Jon Anderson (1968) preceded Steve Howe (1970) in the band by several years. And Rick Wakeman (1971) joined before Alan White (1972) did.
