Wild man of rock’n’roll Billy Idol is the latest to lend his rebel yell to charity, joining the roster of rock icons who will perform at a November 3rd Los Angeles benefit for the cancer fundraising initiative Rhonda’s Kiss.
The special one-night-only event will feature performances by all-star musicians under the moniker the Hellcat Saints: Velvet Revolver’s Dave Kushner and Duff McKagan, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer extraordinaire Josh Freese (Devo, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails), former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, Juliette Lewis, Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath, and now Idol. In an interesting twist, electropop princess Kesha will also be making an appearance, and actor Bill Burr (Breaking Bad) will be playing MC and performing a 30-minute comedy set.
The performance will be at the El Rey Theatre in L.A. Tickets and VIP packages are on sale now on the theatre’s website. Fans can enjoy a meet-and-greet with the performers as well as bid in a live auction featuring signed memorabilia and vacation getaways. The goal of the concert is to raise money for cancer patients who can’t afford treatment, and all funds will directly benefit City of Hope, a leading research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases.
