A clothing line inspired by the iconic style of Bob Dylan was introduced this fall by New York design label Barking Irons. The new limited edition premium Rolling Thunder Collection is focused on Dylan’s own style from the early 1960s in Greenwich Village through his epic mid ‘70s tour and includes outerwear, shirting, knits, and graphic tees inspired by Dylan’s iconic style.
The carefully crafted, 16-piece Rolling Thunder Collection is inspired by key items that Dylan wore and updates them for a modern look. Key pieces in the story-driven collection are accompanied with photo hangtags referencing the design inspiration and allowing fans to see the direct connection between the piece and the album or time in which it was worn by Dylan.
Dylan’s story is told through sewn-in details of a harmonica logo, embroidered lyrics on the inside of a collar, original typewritten lyrics and many more surprises quietly woven into the collection.
Barking Irons’ Creative Director Daniel Casarella said: “We very much wanted these styles to speak to the wearer and fan with immersive details on the inside, while keeping the everyday wearability on the outside.”
Barking Irons is offering Best Classic Bands readers a 20% discount on the entire Rolling Thunder Collection. Click any of the individual photos on this page to see that item or click here to view the entire collection and use Code: BCB20.
“We are thrilled to have been able to work so closely with an artist like Bob Dylan to bring this collection to life,” said Michael Casarella, Barking Irons’ CEO. “Dylan had such enviable style and we think fans will enjoy discovering all the detail that went into this.”
Since 2009, Barking Irons has been delivering a core line of premium wardrobe staples alongside elevating the merchandise that surrounds music, designing exclusive projects with such recording artists as Roger Waters, Billy Joel, Sean Lennon, and Kings of Leon. With each collection, Barking Irons aims to connect people to stories, icons, and experiences.
Barking Irons’ Rolling Thunder Collection joins other Dylan projects this year including his legendary Nashville sessions Travelin’ Thru, 1967-1969: The Bootleg Series Vol. 15 which was released Nov. 1, Martin Scorsese’s Netflix documentary Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story, the 148-track box set Bob Dylan – The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings, and new tour dates for Dylan’s Never-Ending Tour.
