Bob Dylan and Neil Young will headline an outdoor concert in London on July 12, 2019. In recent years, the British Summer Time series in London’s Hyde Park has presented concerts by such classic rock stars as Eric Clapton, The Who, Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Carole King and more.
The Dylan-Young concert is the series’ first to be announced for 2019. Tickets for the general public go on sale on Friday, Nov. 30 here.
The Nov. 27 announcement describes the event as “one historic night.” Young, who turned 73 on Nov. 12, will perform with the band he has frequently toured with in recent years, Promise of the Real, which is led by Lukas Nelson, Willie’s son.

Additional acts will be added to the bill. The BST announcement notes: “Considered the greatest songwriters of their generation, their contribution to the history of rock music puts them above even their most legendary peers.”
Dylan, whose 2018 U.S. tour ends on Dec. 3 in Philadelphia, has also booked concerts in Europe, to precede the London BST event. The Bard turned 77 on May 24.
Other rock legends to recently headline the British Summer Time series are Roger Waters and Phil Collins.
