Bob Saget, the stand-up comedian, actor, and television host, best known for his role as Danny Tanner, “America’s Dad,” on the long-running TV sitcom Full House and its Fuller House sequel, died Sunday (January 9, 2022). TMZ reports that Saget, 65, was found dead in his room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Fla., by the Orange County Sheriff’s office. The comic was in the midst of a stand-up tour and performed Saturday at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Jacksonville.
His Full House co-star, John Stamos, “I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him.”
Saget played a widower on ABC-TV’s Full House from 1987-1995, and the father of three girls. The youngest, named Michelle, was portrayed alternately by twin sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. By its fourth season, the series was a solid hit, finishing in the Top 20 for four consecutive years.
I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby.

The comedian was also known for his raunchy “bluer than blue” humor.
Saget‘s 2022 “I Don’t Do Negative” tour had only begun on Jan. 7 in Orlando. After the Jan. 8 show in Jacksonville, it wasn’t scheduled to resume until Jan. 28. It was to run in more than a dozen cities through mid-June.
Early Sunday morning, he tweeted, “Loved tonight’s show @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience. Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening. I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight. I’m happily addicted again to this shit.”
In 1989, Saget began hosting another ABC series, America’s Funniest Home Videos, remaining in the role until 1997.
Audiences were surprised to discover that the standup comedian for over three decades also had a knack for “blue” humor, from his scene-stealing cameos in HBO’s Entourage to the 2005 documentary, The Aristocrats, that displayed his mischievous side.
Caution: Saget’s performance in The Aristocrats is very “blue”
Friends note the contradiction to his “blue” material was that off stage, amongst women or strangers, he was a complete gentleman and never swore.

Beautiful Bob Saget passed away today at 65. He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness’ sake. :’^} pic.twitter.com/QVSITsfaVj

I know that people lose loved ones, good people, every day. No one gets a pass. But the loss of Bob Saget hits deep. If you didn’t know him, he was kind and dear and cared about people deeply. He was the definition of “a good egg”. Too soon he leaves. #RipBobSaget

Fellow comic Jamie Kennedy filmed a hilarious episode on his short-lived ‘Experiment’ show, where he’s a Hollywood tour bus guide who stops at Bob’s house, breaks in and lets everyone in cuz he’s not home. At one point they open the fridge and it’s completely full, nothing else, of identical bottles of Skol vodka, both freezer and fridge, lol.
