Former Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson has announced a slew of new dates on his Pet Sounds 2017 World Tour. Wilson been performing the band’s landmark 1966 album in its entirety at various venues since last year. He says that these will be the final Pet Sounds shows.
“We are blown away by the reception of this tour,” Wilson told Billboard. “It’s unbelievable how many people love this album. The audiences have been so fantastic and we are honored to play for them. We never expected this reaction, so we will continue to perform this album for people as long as they ask us to.”
Wilson’s band includes original Beach Boy Al Jardine and longtime member Blondie Chaplin.
