Cheap Trick have released their upcoming 20th studio album. In Another World arrived via BMG on April 9, 2021. (A limited edition blue and white splattered vinyl is available at independent record stores.)
On Jan. 28, the band shared the first single, “Light Up the Fire.” Listen to it and several others below.
Cheap Trick have many concerts on their 2021 calendar including their rescheduled tour with Rod Stewart. Note: They have rescheduled their U.K. concert dates to 2022.
From the album’s Jan. 28 announcement: In Another World was produced by the band’s longtime associate Julian Raymond. It’s their first new album since 2017’s We’re All Alright! and Christmas Christmas. It includes their cover of John Lennon’s “Gimme Some Truth,” which features guitar from the Sex Pistols Steve Jones, and a blues number, “Final Days,” with harmonica from Wet Willie frontman Jimmy Hall, among its songs. See below for the complete track listing.

Founded in 1974, Cheap Trick are beloved around the globe for their instantly identifiable, hugely influential, brand of pop-rock and roll. The band – Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Nielsen (lead guitar), Tom Petersson (bass guitar) – are true pioneers with an unparalleled streak of certifiably classic tunes, from “California Man” and “Dream Police” to “Surrender,” “I Want You to Want Me,” and the worldwide #1 hit single, “The Flame.” 2016 saw Cheap Trick inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a long-overdue acknowledgment of their impact and acclaim.

Cheap Trick – Zander, Nielsen, Petersson along with drummer Daxx Nielsen – are consistently one of rock’s hardest working live acts, lighting it up at arenas, concert halls, and amphitheaters worldwide more than 150 nights each year. The pandemic forced the band off the road for perhaps the longest hiatus of their storied history. Cheap Trick plan to return to the endless highway later as soon as they can, including North American and U.K. tour dates.

“This band is held together by music,” says Zander. “It’s the super glue that keeps us writing and putting records out. The reason we started the band in the first place was to tour and write songs and put records out. If all that went away, there would be no point then, would there?”
