The Foo Fighters frontman deserves some kind of award for how he responded to an injury he suffered at a concert in Gothenburg, Sweden on June 12th. During the second song of the show, “Monkey Wrench,” Grohl fell offstage, and then told the audience that he thought he’d broken his leg. And also made a promise to them: “Right now, I’m going to go to the hospital, I’m going to fix my leg, but then I’m going to come back.”
Instead, a medic onsite wrapped Grohl’s right leg backstage and he returned to the stage to sing and play from a chair. A cast was brought from a nearby hospital and Grohl took a quick break to have it placed on his lower leg and then finished out the show. Sure enough, a post-concert x-ray revealed that his leg was indeed broken.
We believe the word “mensch” is in order here.
