The 2017 edition of the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, taking place in Los Angeles March 2-5, will feature Deep Purple’s longest-running member, drummer Ian Paice, as well as later members Steve Morse (guitar) and Glenn Hughes (bass, vocals).
According to promotional material from the camp’s website, attendees will “spend four days immersed in the music that made Deep Purple a true rock and roll icon and influence over the last 40-plus years. From Machine Head to Burn to Perfect Strangers and more, you will jam the songs from the albums that have made up the soundtrack of your life…including a live performance at the legendary Whisky A Go Go, where you will perform with Glenn Hughes.”
Past headliners at the camp have included Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, Jeff Beck, Roger Daltrey, Alice Cooper and Slash.
Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, the website states, “was born out of the desire to give the public the experience of living the life of a rock star, with rock stars, for a few days, and gaining their knowledge along the way. The idea came to [promoter] David Fishof after years of producing rock tours throughout the world.”
