Don Henley has been playing stadiums and arenas for decades with The Eagles. But now his admirers can enjoy him in close quarters during a resort weekend in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex with other Henley fans in a special package from Runaway Tours.
The three-day, two-night VIP fan experience from Saturday, April 30 to May 2 at the Gaylord Texas Resort includes an intimate performance by Henley at the hotel’s Glass Cactus Nightclub that features storytelling and a Q&A that gives attendees a richer appreciation of the classic rock superstar’s music and creative process, and songs from throughout his career with the Eagles as well as a solo artist. Everyone will enjoy a photo op with Henley, a first evening welcome DJ dance with drinks and appetizers, an after-show party with drinks and appetizers, an exclusive autographed photo of Henley and a special trip laminate pass and lanyard.
A limited number of hotel room packages are available here for this unique opportunity to see and meet the native Texan in his home state (where he now lives again with his family in Dallas). A few no hotel packages can also be purchased.
Henley is joining Carole King for a special concert at London’s Hyde Park.
The fan event follows the recent sad loss of his Eagles partner Glenn Frey (see our news item here), and Henley’s release of his latest solo recording – the country album Cass County (named after the northeast Texas county where he was born and grew up). In his review of the LP, Best Classic Bands editor Rob Patterson said, “This set’s about a boy from a small Texas town (yet still the county seat) now a man reconnecting with his roots… sort of…. [W]hat you get is a very well-crafted recording with well-written songs…. [t]’s a sincere endeavor free of market calculation on which his voice shines, the songs cajole and seduce, and his genuine affection for country should appeal to anyone who admires craft, real sentiment and the true spirit of country music.”
Other than this event and the London event (above), Henley’s only other 2016 performance that’s currently listed is a one-off date on July 19 in Woodinville, WA.
