The Eagles—Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, with Deacon Frey and Grand Ole Opry member Vince Gill—are considered pioneers of the country-rock genre, particularly in their early days, with hits such as “Take It Easy,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Peaceful Easy Feeling” and “Desperado.”
Housed originally at the Ryman Auditorium (which still hosts the weekly Grand Ole Opry radio program three months a year), and now based at the Grand Ole Opry House east of downtown Nashville, the Opry has been a Nashville institution since its founding in 1925.
The Eagles recently took to performing live concerts again following the death of co-founder Glenn Frey. His son, Deacon, as well as Opry member Gill, now share vocal duties on the songs written and formerly performed by Glenn Frey with the band.
