Speaking of the biopic, this is from the film’s director, Unjoo Moon:
Thank you Helen for teaching me to be stong & invincible as an artist a woman & a mother. You paved the way for so many. Janis Ian wrote, “From the time we were both nominated in the same category at the 1975 Grammys (when I won, she was among the first to stand and clap), to featuring me on her television show, to our appearance with Odetta at Madison Square Garden celebrating women and women’s rights, she was unfailingly generous and kind. A great example of what an artist should be, and how an artist should behave.”
Wishing peace to my friend #Shero Helen Reddy. She changed the world 4 little girls like me #IAmWoman. When they kept female comics off 2nite show she guest hosted & booked me! Changed my life 4ever. Told me 2 reach up w/one hand, reach down with the other to help the next 1 up. pic.twitter.com/ZXpFSe33Q1

From Academy Award-winning actress, Viola Davis: “Loved you Helen Reddy!! Your music was an anthem to all women! Your voice golden. Rest well!!”
Aw, Helen Reddy passed away. We used to sing “Delta Dawn” walking home from school. And we tried to emulate her insouciance & swagger. Which was hard cuz we were only kids & didn’t really understand the song. But that didn’t matter. We just loved her & wanted to be cool like her. pic.twitter.com/3S4AMCk0io
