Iron Maiden’s The Book Of Souls world tour will return to North America with arena and amphitheater shows this summer. The original tour opened in February 2016 playing 14 sold-out shows in the U.S.A and Canada and 58 concerts in 34 other countries. The British heavy metal legends have already scheduled spring dates in several European countries and in the U.K. The 25 dates announced today (Jan. 19) have the band beginning a new North American leg on June 3 continuing through July 21. [The band has since added a second date in Brooklyn, NY on July 22.]
The Book Of Souls, released on September 4, 2015, is Maiden’s first ever double studio album. It debuted at #1 in many countries and #4 in the U.S.
Tickets go on-sale January 27 with an exclusive pre-sale for Iron Maiden fan club members, and information on how members can participate in the draw to be “First To The Barrier.” Tickets for the general public will be available here.
For the 2017 shows the band will again be implementing a partial paperless ticketing system in many venues.
Swedish heavy metal band Ghost will be special guests for the North American leg of the tour.
In announcing the tour, Iron Maiden founder Steve Harris says: “We will be bringing the full production with us including all the Eddies and the Maya-themed stage sets. There’s been a great reaction from everyone to this tour’s theme, people really seem to love it. We’re still deciding on the final set-list and we’ll work that out once we get into rehearsals. Most of our North American fans haven’t seen the show yet so as we want to give them the same ‘Book Of Souls’ live experience that we took around the world, it’s unlikely we’ll change much. And of course we know our fans appreciate us playing a lot of the older songs too, so we will continue to do that!”
The original “Book Of Souls” tour were the classic rock band’s first dates in over a year and a half due to an illness suffered by lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The release of The Book Of Souls – the band’s first studio album in five years – and the world tour were delayed while Dickinson had a cancerous tumor removed.
