Update (Jan. 21): Walsh keeps churning out some great clips of some of the behind-the-scenes and on-stage memories of his HoB residency. See below…
Last November, Joe Walsh announced a limited residency at the House of Blues in Las Vegas for January 2017. And as we reported in December, the Eagles great will be opening for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers spring dates for much of their 40th Anniversary tour. (See below for dates.)
Walsh has now done five of the HoB shows with one more to go and he’s released behind-the-scenes recaps of the preparation and general good times that go into his performances. (See below.)
On the January 11 opening night, his 19-song setlist included such classic rock favorites as Eagles hits “Life in the Fast Lane” and “Take It to the Limit,” which he dedicated to Eagles bandmate Glenn Frey. He also did several James Gang songs including “Walk Away” and “Funk #49,” solo hits like “Rocky Mountain Way” and “Life’s Been Good,” and even a cover of Sly & the Family Stone‘s “Everyday People.”
