Blues-rock pioneer John Mayall, as productive and vital as ever at age 82, is not only still on the road—his schedule is packed solid with gigs all the way into next spring—but already planning his next album release. And, just to make it that much more enticing, he’s divulged one very special guest: Joe Walsh. The involvement of the former Eagles guitarist was announced on udiscovermusic.com. The album, titled Let’s Talk About That, was recorded in February at the House of Blues Studio in Nashville.
Mayall, who released his debut more than 50 years ago—and whose bands have served as breeding grounds for the likes of Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor, as well as Fleetwood Mac founding members Mick Fleetwood, Peter Green and John McVie—released his most recent set of new material, Find a Way to Care, last year. In addition, a recently discovered set of early recordings, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers Live In 1967, has been released on two volumes. The second of those, which featured Fleetwood, McVie and Green, is Mayall’s 64th album!
Mayall was recently inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame.
