Keith Richards reunited with the X-Pensive Winos when they headlined the Love Rocks NYC 2022 concert at New York’s Beacon Theatre on March 10. The star-studded lineup for annual benefit concert for God’s Love We Deliver also featured Jackson Browne, Debbie Harry, Mavis Staples, Melissa Etheridge, Hozier, and Warren Haynes.
Richards performed three songs with his longtime collaborator, drummer Steve Jordan, who subbed for Charlie Watts on the 2021 edition of the Rolling Stones’ “No Filter” tour. They were joined by Waddy Wachtel and Ivan Neville, as well as “honorary Wino” Will Lee on bass guitar.
Actor Laurence Fishburne introduced their three-song set of “999” (from his 1992 Main Offender album), “You Got the Silver” (from Let It Bleed), and “Before They Make Me Run.”
From the Feb. 15 announcement: Love Rocks NYC is a marquee annual music event that raises money and unites new and existing supporters for God’s Love We Deliver. The concert, which has become one of the premiere benefit concerts in the country, is known for hosting riveting performances, and unique artist collaborations from many of the world’s most talented and revered artists. Each year, on the stage at the historic Beacon Theatre, artists, actors and the audience are brought together for one common goal: to help feed New Yorkers who are too sick to cook or shop for themselves, and do it through the healing power of live music.
