Tributes from fellow performers, and others of note, began to appear on social media soon after word came on Thursday night, November 10, that acclaimed singer-songwriter singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen had passed at age 82.
Leonard Cohen wrote some great songs. “Hallelujah” is one that is very moving to me. Love and Mercy to Leonard’s family, friends and fans.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin…
No other artist’s music felt or sounded like Leonard Cohen’s. Yet his work resonated across generations. Canada and the world will miss him.

Dan Rather (via Facebook): There are few musicians who can be called iconic. There are even fewer whose voices are acclaimed as one of a kind. And there are only a handful of songwriters who are able to paint the pains and complexities of the world with a language that strikes directly at the heart. Leonard Cohen was all of that and so much more. We are less fulfilled, less sensible, and less connected with his passing.
May he rest In peace and may his music continue to move us in these troubled times.
