Melissa Etheridge has announced that her acclaimed theatrical event, Melissa Etheridge: My Window, is coming to Broadway for a limited engagement. The autobiographical show is described as an exhilarating evening of storytelling and music. From tales of her childhood in Kansas to her groundbreaking career highlights – with all of life’s hits and deep cuts between. The residency, at New York’s Circle in the Square Theatre, runs from Sept. 14 through Nov. 19, 2023. Tickets are available here.
“I truly love Broadway, and it’s long been a dream of mine to tell my story and share my music there,” Etheridge said.
Known for her confessional lyrics and raspy, smoky vocals, Etheridge has enjoyed a career decades with classics like “I’m the Only One,” “Come to My Window,” “I Want to Come Over,” and more. Since the release of her self-titled 1988 debut, Etheridge’s career includes sales of over 25 million albums, five platinum and three multi-platinum records, 15 GRAMMY Award nominations and two wins, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and an Academy Award for “I Need to Wake Up” from the climate change documentary An Inconvenient Truth.
Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Am, featuring the massive hits “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window,” that brought her a second Grammy. The 6x platinum album spent more than two and a half years on the chart.
