Roger Waters has perfected the fine art of the tease. He’s been sharing some breadcrumbs every few weeks about his upcoming album, Is This the Life We Really Want, revealing some instrumental passages, as well as adding dates to his now-extensive Us + Them tour.
Today (Mar. 20), Waters shared roughly 45-seconds of music from the upcoming album. The instrumental passage–just Waters on guitar–has a bit of “Wish You Were Here” feel to it. (Watch the clip below.)
On March 3, Waters had offered a bit of the album’s recording process–well, 32 seconds worth anyway–as well as its release date. (It’s coming May 19.)
Amazingly, the new release will only be Waters’ fourth solo studio album and his first since 1992’s Amused to Death. The album is not yet available for pre-order.

On February 16, he tweeted a brief clip of some of the album’s instrumentation and a vague “Coming Soon”…

The tour is described as “performing songs from the albums of Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Animals and Wish You Were Here. On February 21, Waters wrote: “We are going to take a new show on the road, the content is very secret. It’ll be a mixture of stuff from my long career, stuff from my years with Pink Floyd, some new things. Probably 75% of it will be old material and 25% will be new, but it will be all connected by a general theme. It will be a cool show, I promise you. It’ll be spectacular like all my shows have been.”
