After a week of rumors, and just after celebrating his 75th birthday on June 18, Paul McCartney formally announced today (June 21) a brief December tour of Australia and New Zealand, his first there since 1993.
Some of the gaps in McCartney’s summer tour schedule got filled in on May 8 as word leaked that he’s doubling down at many of the venues whose tickets had been quickly gobbled up. Second dates have been added in Chicago, New York and Detroit and he’s now doing eight nights in the New York metropolitan area at four different arenas. On May 10, he added four dates in Brazil and on June 20 he posted one in Colombia. (See the updated itinerary below.)
Tickets are available here and here.
A few weeks’ ago, on the day (April 25) that he performed his first official concert of the year (at the legendary Budokan in Tokyo–see setlist below), Paul McCartney revealed U.S. dates for his 2017 “One on One” tour. On May 2, he added four dates in Brazil.
When McCartney shared three April dates at the Tokyo Dome, the announcement noted an “all-new One on One tour,” prompting immediate speculation that he was planning an extensive tour.
The 2016 One On One tour saw him play 41 shows across 12 different countries to over 1.2 million people.

The band’s lineup of the last 10+ years continues: Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums).
The One On One Tour features a brand new production with state of the art audio and video technology, massive screens, lasers and fireworks.
On May 17, McCartney announced the start of the tour was being delayed by two days: The “opener at Miami’s American Airlines Arena has been re-scheduled to FRIDAY JULY 7th to accommodate enhancements to the tour’s production. Tickets for the original July 5th date will be honored for the July 7th performance. Those unable to attend the re-scheduled date will be able to receive refunds at their original point of purchase. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but sincerely hope that everyone will be able to attend the show and enjoy an amazing evening.”

Last year we compared him to the Energizer bunny because he was seemingly non-stop with his mammoth One On One tour, Desert Trip appearances, announcing his return to The Beatles’ original U.S. label, Capitol Records, a surprise club gig in between his “Oldchella” performances, and then yet another surprise appearance on New Year’s Eve at a private concert on St. Bart’s. He’s also recording a new album.
