For the second-to-last show of Paul McCartney‘s eight-night “residency” in the New York metropolitan area on September 26, 2017, the star was joined onstage by native son Billy Joel for two Beatles favorites. Since resuming the U.S. leg of his ongoing One On One tour on Sept. 11 in Newark, NJ, McCartney had performed two times each at the area’s four operational arenas: the Prudential Center, Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center and, finally, the Nassau Coliseum.
McCartney’s 39-song sets were a combination of Beatles and Wings favorites and solo hits. He had just three more U.S. dates and then headed to South America and Mexico for six shows in October. He closed the year with seven concerts in Australia and New Zealand in December.

On Sept. 15, he was joined by Bruce Springsteen and Steve Van Zandt for two performances of “I Saw Her Standing There.” On this night, Joel came onstage midway through McCartney’s eight-song encore to join the band for “Get Back” and “Birthday.”
