Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunited at a 50th anniversary event at London’s Abbey Road Studios on Friday, September 26, to celebrate the Beatles’ iconic album. The two surviving members of the Fab Four arrived separately, with their wives. McCartney and his wife, Nancy Shevell, were beaming as they walked in arm-in-arm. Starr’s wife, Barbara Bach, was all smiles as her husband flashed the peace sign.

The last time McCartney and Starr were together in public was at the former’s concert last July 13 at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, when the pair played two Beatles songs during McCartney’s 2019 Freshen Up tour.
McCartney is making a guest appearance on Starr’s upcoming album, What’s My Name on a cover of a John Lennon song, “Grow Old With Me.”
The deluxe editions of the Abbey Road album were instant top-sellers upon their release yesterday (Sept. 27). As with 2017’s Sgt. Pepper’s release and 2018’s The Beatles, the elaborate, expanded versions of the 1969 title showcase many previously unreleased studio sessions and demos of songs that fans have heard countless numbers of times.
The newly released tracks are revelatory in the way they demonstrate how the songs progressed over time.
