Peter Frampton has begun his goodbyes on the road. On opening night of his farewell tour on June 18, the classic rock legend treated fans at The Joint at Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa, Okla., with the first performance of a tour that currently spans four months.
The primarily U.S. run, announced on February 22, Peter Frampton Finale—The Farewell Tour presented by SiriusXM, and produced by Live Nation, continues throughout the summer and fall.
On opening night, he offered a broad setlist that included such signature songs as “Show Me the Way” and “Do You Feel Like We Do,” as well as choice covers like Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” and “I Don’t Need No Doctor,” which he famously recorded as a member of Humble Pie, decades earlier. He closed with a performance of George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
In an interview that aired February 23 on CBS This Morning: Saturday, Frampton revealed that he has a rare and incurable muscular disease that causes the muscles to weaken slowly.
Fans at opening night of the tour were treated to many of their favorites.

Frampton told CBS This Morning that he was diagnosed with the condition about three and a half years ago, after a fall on stage. “What will happen, unfortunately, is that it affects the finger flexors,” he explained. “That’s the first telltale sign is the flexors, you know. So for a guitar player, it’s not very good. It’s not life-threatening. It’s life-changing,” he added.

On June 7, he released a new album, All Blues, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart. The album is a collection of Frampton’s favorite blues classics and was recorded with his longtime touring band, made up of Adam Lester (guitar/vocals), Rob Arthur (keyboards/guitar/vocals) and Dan Wojciechowski (drums).
Inexplicably, Frampton has yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He turned 69 on April 22.
