They made the announcement on Feb. 26 and on Thursday night (May 17), the Rolling Stones began the 2018 edition of their #NoFilter tour at Croke Park in Dublin. The band has announced dates in the U.K., Ireland and Europe… 14 dates in all, spread out over six weeks… they’re all over 70, after all. (Their ages range from Ronnie Wood’s 70 to Charlie Watts’ 76; both of them have birthdays in early June.) In fact, their next performance isn’t until May 22 in London, and even though there won’t be any travel involved, the following one is three days after that. You get the picture.
For opening night, the Stones played 19 songs, just one less than they did on the final performance (in Paris) of the 2017 edition of the tour. (14 of the songs were on both setlists.) The band has so many fan favorites that there are bound to be omissions from attendees’ wish lists but they still managed to play such classic rock standards as “Sympathy For the Devil” (the evening’s opening number), “Honky Tonk Women,” “Gimme Shelter” and “Brown Sugar.” (See the complete setlist below.)

Watch “Paint it Black”
“Anyone here from Cork,” Mick Jagger asked the packed stadium crowd. “Anyone here from Belfast?” He then strapped on a guitar for “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”
Watch “Start Me Up”
Watch “Brown Sugar,” the final song before the Stones returned for the encore
The evening ended with a one-two punch encore of “Gimme Shelter” and an extended “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” as fireworks exploded over the stage.
