A 1998 concert from the Rolling Stones’ “Bridges to Babylon” tour is being released in a variety of formats on June 21. The April 5 announcement from Eagle Vision notes the previously unreleased concert film, Bridges to Bremen, has been completely restored, remixed and remastered, and will be available on digital, DVD + 2CD, Blu-ray + 2CD, triple vinyl and digital audio.
On May 28, the concert performance of “Like a Rolling Stone” was released. Watch it below.
Bridges to Bremen captures the complete September 2, 1998 show from Germany’s Weserstadion during the final leg of the Stones‘ tour of 97 concerts that spanned five legs and four continents in support of their Bridges to Babylon album. The LP achieved Platinum and Gold status in multiple markets upon its’ original release in 1997.
The Bridges to Babylon Tour was one of firsts – the first time the band went on the road with a permanent B-stage, and also the first time that fans could vote on the band’s website for a track they wanted to hear at the show – “Memory Motel” in the case of the Bremen fans, making each show on the tour unique.
By Stones standards, Bremen was an intimate show, with “just” 40,000 fans for which the band performed 155 minutes of classic rock favorites, including their cover of Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone.” (See the complete set list and order links below.)
This concert film has been meticulously restored from the original masters, and the audio remixed and remastered from the live multitrack recordings. Four tracks from the band’s Soldier Field performances in Chicago are included as bonus features on all physical visual formats.
