The Rolling Stones’ #NoFilter tour, announced on May 9, with just 14 shows in 12 different venues across Europe in September and October, ended on Oct. 25 with the third of three concerts at the U Arena in Paris, France.
[The Stones have announced 2018 dates.]
The Stones, whose ages range from Ronnie Wood’s 70 to Charlie Watts’ 76, played those 14 dates over a generous 46 days, giving the band a minimum of three days in between dates. Even the three closing dates in the City of Lights spanned a week. Those 14 stadium shows were big enough to rank #10 for the year in terms of concert revenues.
Best Classic Bands attended the first of two Stones concerts at Desert Trip, in October 2016, and noted: “The Stones may not be the baddest band in the land anymore… but they still know how to put on a spectacle.”

The band’s 20 songs mirrored the setlist that they have done throughout the stadium tour with numerous “mandatory” classic rock titles such as “Honky Tonk Women,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Sympathy For the Devil,” “Brown Sugar” and “Start Me Up” among them.

The Stones played South America and a handful of U.S. dates in 2016 and recorded a well-received all-blues album, Blue & Lonesome. Here’s hoping that they follow-up both in 2018.
