Update 10/18: During tonight’s X Factor in the U.K., a mysterious ad ran, apparently teasing Adele’s new LP. See for yourself by clicking the video below:
That’s what Best Classic Bands is hearing.
The release date for her next album is said to be November 20, and it’s reportedly the final record in her original deal with XL Recordings/Columbia Records. (2008’s 19 was her first.) No word yet on the title or first single. Insiders say she has already inked a new worldwide deal with Sony Music (which owns Columbia) valued at more than $50 million.
It’s been four-plus years since Adele’s second album, 21, was released. Or perhaps better word said unleashed, as it reportedly sold over 30 million copies worldwide, thanks to the runaway success of the first single, “Rolling In The Deep” – a U.S #1 chart hit for seven weeks – and tremendous critical response.
The British singer is keeping mum: she hasn’t posted on her Facebook page since March 22 or tweeted since August 5. The music industry could sure use the lift: no 2015 release has approached Taylor Swift’s 1989 album in sales in nearly a year since it came out. Thanks to the tip from John Pascarella.
