Santana and Counting Crows have announced their “Oneness Tour” for summer 2024. The GRAMMY-winning, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist and his band will perform music from their career, including fan favorites from Woodstock to Supernatural, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and will be highlighted all tour. Produced by Live Nation, the North American tour begins on June 14 before wrapping up in Phoenix, AZ at Footprint Center on Sept. 2. Tickets will be available starting with a Citi presale on Feb. 14. The general on-sale begins on Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. local time here.
From the Feb. 13 announcement: For more than five decades – from Santana’s earliest days as a groundbreaking Afro-Latin-blues-rock fusion outfit in San Francisco – Carlos Santana has been the visionary force behind artistry that transcends musical genres and generational, cultural, and geographical boundaries. Santana has won ten GRAMMY Awards with a record-tying nine for a single project for 1999’s Supernatural (including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for “Smooth”). He has received the Billboard Century Award (1996), was ushered into the Rock Hall (1998), received the Billboard Latin Music Awards’ Lifetime Achievement honor (2009), and was the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors (2013). Santana and the Rolling Stones are the only two bands to have an album reach the Billboard Top 10 in every decade since the 1960s. The feature-length documentary, Carlos, produced by Sony Music Entertainment and Imagine Documentaries, is a celebration of Carlos Santana’s life and career. It had its World Premiere at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival and is now available to stream worldwide here. Santana has been in residency in Las Vegas for over 15 years and will continue to perform at House of Blues Las Vegas where he recently celebrated his 10th anniversary in the intimate venue. Santana recordings are available here.
A new authorized book focusing on the vast musical output of the legend, Carlos Santana: Love, Devotion, Surrender—The Illustrated Story of His Music Journey, is set for publication October 2024, from Insight Editions. The oversized hardcover book, which includes hundreds of photographs of the superstar guitarist—performance shots and candids—as well as memorabilia, guitars, posters and tickets, etc., was written by Best Classic Bands editor Jeff Tamarkin, and includes brand new interviews with Carlos himself, as well as others involved in his life and career. It’s available for pre-order in the U.S. here and in the U.K. here.
