Just eight days after the death of his Steely Dan partner Walter Becker, Donald Fagen has announced a series of new tour dates for October, including six in the United States, two in Canada and three in the U.K. According to online reports, Fagen intends to keep the name Steely Dan alive and will continue to perform the band’s catalog of music with the band he and Becker were using. Fagen also has a separate band with which he tours, the Night Flyers.

Upon Becker’s passing on Sept. 3, Fagen wrote, in a tribute to the group’s late co-founder, “I intend to keep the music we created together alive as long as I can with the Steely Dan band.”
The Steely Dan tour begins in Oklahoma on Oct. 13 and ends in Dublin, Ireland, on Oct. 30. For the U.K. shows Steely Dan will share the bill with the Doobie Brothers. Both groups played this summer’s Classic West and Classic East stadium shows—Becker’s absence from those concerts fueled rumors that he was unwell.
Fagen will reportedly tour with his own band following the Steely Dan dates. He is on tour with the Night Flyers now through Sept. 24.
