Steve Coy, the drummer of the Liverpool-based dance-pop band Dead or Alive, best known for its 1985 #11 hit “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record),” died on May 4, 2018. The cause and place of death were not reported. Coy was 56.
According to a report on the music website Noise11, “Coy was the drummer for Dead or Alive from 1982. He played on the first Dead or Alive hit, the cover of KC and the Sunshine Band’s ‘That’s the Way (I Like It)’ in 1984 and following recordings through to the band’s most recent album ‘Fragile’ in 2000.”
A Wikipedia bio of the band credits Coy with playing keyboards, guitar and bass as well as drums.
Steve Coy was born March 9, 1962, in Liverpool. His death follows that of singer Pete Burns, who died at age 57 in 2016.

Rest in peace, Steve Coy. You were a part of one of the greatest musical bands of all time. There will never be another band like DEAD OR ALIVE again. I hope you and the wonderful Pete Burns are having a blast in the afterlife. We miss you both dearly.
