The first single to be released from Blue Rose Music‘s new An American Troubadour: The Songs Of Steve Forbert album, is a rousing performance by John Oates and Bekka Bramlett of the song “I Blinked Once.” Best Classic Bands was delighted to premiere the video on April 19, in advance of the album’s Oct. 6 release.
The LP showcases a number of notable artists–including John Popper of Blues Traveler, Bill Lloyd, and Robert Earl Keen–lending their voices and style to classic Steve Forbert songs.
Forbert’s debut album, Alive on Arrival, was released in 1978 and featured such memorable songs as “Goin’ Down to Laurel” and “You Cannot Win if You Do Not Play.” His 1980 single, “Romeo’s Tune,” reached #11 on the pop charts. He has since recorded over 20 albums.
