Season Three of Rock and Roll Road Trip With Sammy Hagar begins Sunday, April 8 at 9 p.m. In Episode One, Hagar heads to the world-famous Fillmore in San Francisco for a star-studded premiere from his fourth annual concert benefit, Acoustic-4-A-Cure, featuring performances and conversations with Mick Fleetwood, Bob Weir, Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins, and guitarists Steve Vai and Vic Johnson. Among the highlights of Season Three, Hagar sits down with the iconic voice of The Who, Roger Daltrey, at Lake Tahoe where the pair reminisce about playing the 1973 Charlton Festival (Apr. 15); and Sammy’s visit with Foreigner founder/guitarist Mick Jones in Austin, TX, featuring a pit stop at the Circuit of the Americas racetrack (Apr. 29).
The road trip continues on May 6, as Sammy revisits with Judas Priest legend Rob Halford, and others (May 6); followed by an acoustic session with GRAMMY®-winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan, and Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo (May 13).
Then, Hagar sails the high seas with fellow classic rockers Bad Company, Todd Rundgren, and Blue Oyster Cult on the Rock Legends Cruise VI (May 20); and viewers get to spend 24 hours in the life of Sammy as he hits the road with The Circle to perform live at RockFest in Kansas City (June 17). The season comes to a close with an all-access pass to Sammy’s epic birthday bash on the beach in Cabo San Lucas on June 24.
In this exclusive clip from the Season Three opener, Vai talks about learning to play guitar from Joe Satriani. “We grew up in the same town. I was 12 years old and got my first guitar. A friend of mine had a guitar and he could actually play. He said ‘If you think I’m good, you should see my guitar teacher!'”
