Stevie Nicks has announced 12 new dates to her 2022 tour schedule. The July 25 announcement has extended the run through the end of October, bringing the total to 18.
Nicks’ first performance of the year was on May 7, where she was the headliner on the final Saturday of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton will support on all dates. Tickets for the new performances go on sale July 29 here.
Guitarist Waddy Wachtel, who doubles as Nicks‘ musical director told Best Classic Bands that when the band assembled last spring, “we rehearsed for weeks. We hadn’t played for almost 3 years. We’re looking at each other like ‘What?'”
He described the shock of finally returning to the stage. “We had been sitting around [during the pandemic] wearing sweat pants. It’s great [to be back]. We live for it.”
The Heartbreakers’ Benmont Tench is the band’s keyboardist.
Watch Nicks perform “Edge of Seventeen” at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on May 14, 2022

Sadly, I saw her 2019 tour with Fleetwood Mac. She was not up to par and that is being kind. Christine McVie carried the show writing or co-writing 10 of the 20 songs played. They sounded great, especially Neil Finn, what a voice. The five tunes Stevie sang lead on, not so much. Her voice was shot. She even got the state wrong. Welcome South Carolina it’s Oscar night, which it was. Only problem she was in North Carolina.
