The joint “24 Karat Gold Tour” featuring headliner Stevie Nicks and opening act Pretenders was originally scheduled to end December 18, 2016. Last December 5, the classic rock legends announced that they had expanded their tour with plenty of 2017 dates. After a nearly two month break, the tour resumed in February 2017 and continued into April.
Today (August 9), they announced a series of November dates together in Australia and New Zealand. A pre-sale for Amex cardmembers begins August 14. Public on-sale is August 18.
Nicks has several U.S. solo dates scheduled for August and September. Tickets are available here and here. She played Fleetwood Mac’s two lone 2017 dates in July as part of the Classic East and West concerts. Bandmate Christine McVie has publicly stated that the group will play a world tour in 2018.
Nicks has had six Top 10 albums and eight Grammy nominations. Her setlist from the earlier dates on the tour focus primarily on her solo career. The Pretenders cross the bridge between punk, new wave and Top 40 with hits like “Brass in Pocket (I’m Special),” “Back on the Chain Gang” and “Don’t Get Me Wrong.”
The new Pretenders album, Alone, their first in eight years, can be ordered here.
