Ted Nugent has announced his “last tour” (his words). On April 13, 2023, the now-74 year-old guitarist, songwriter and vocalist shared news of his “Adios Mofo” summer tour, with 14 concerts. In the post on his Instagram account, Nugent said, “This is ‘Adios, Mofo.’ This is my last tour. Now, I’ll always play music—I’ve got new records I’m gonna make. I can’t wait to unleash some of these new songs.” Tickets are available here for the moderately priced tour.
“This will be the greatest, most intense, tightest… tour of my life,” he said. “I’m physically fit.”
After his years with the Amboy Dukes, he broke out as a solo artist, where the guitarist’s ear-shattering volume and over-the-top stage antics quickly earned him the moniker of Motor City Madman. He hit his stride cranking out songs like “Cat Scratch Fever,” “Just What the Doctor Ordered,” “Free For All” and “Stranglehold,”Nugent has carved a permanent place in rock ’n’ roll history as a guitar-shredding showman, selling more than 40 million albums and performing in excess of 6,700 live shows.
