U2 today (Sept. 27) released the official video for “You’re the Best Thing About Me,” the first single from their upcoming album, Songs of Experience. The clip, filmed during a recent visit to New York City shows the band visiting some of the city’s landmarks, having a slice of pizza and interacting with fans. And like many visitors to Fun City, they even ride a double decker tourist bus through Times Square. (Watch it below.)
On Aug. 29, U2 announced that they’d finally be offering details about their upcoming album Songs of Experience. The next day, they posted the performance video for “The Blackout,” a song from the album. On Sept. 6, the band released the first single from the album, “You’re the Best Thing About Me.”

In a June 2016 interview with Billboard, the band’s guitarist, The Edge, talked about the timetable for the new album. “We are still busting our ass to try to get it out this year. That’s our plan right now and exactly when, we’re not sure. This is the working assumption. This is our ambition. It could change, but we’re really doing our best to get it out this year.”
It’ll be three years in between albums. Songs of Innocence was released on September 9, 2014. Songs Of Experience is the companion release, the two titles drawing inspiration from a collection of poems, Songs of Innocence and Experience, by the 18th century English mystic and poet William Blake.
